I'm Nick Badders
I serve as the lead play-by-play voice of the Australian Baseball League's Melbourne Aces and am one of the ABL's lead voices for national broadcasts. Outside of my work with the Aces, I broadcast ABL games nationally on Fox Sports in Australia and internationally on AT&T SportsNet and NBC Sports Regional Networks in the United States.
I'm a May 2020 graduate of Arizona State's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and outside of broadcasting, I'm an award-winning sports photographer. Previously, I've spent seasons with the Elizabethton Twins (Minnesota Twins Advanced Rookie Affiliate) and Sonoma Stompers (Independent Pacific Association).
While attending ASU, I served as the voice of Sun Devil women's soccer and women's ice hockey, while having also called ASU basketball, baseball, softball and men's ice hockey and shot photos of nearly every sport Sun Devil Athletics has to offer.
"Any good broadcast, not just an Olympic broadcast, should have texture to it. It should have information, should have some history, should have something that's offbeat, quirky, humorous, and where called for it, should have journalism, and judiciously it should also have commentary. That's my ideal." - Bob Costas
Over the Minor League Baseball offseason, I had the chance to broadcast in Australia with the league champion Melbourne Aces, after serving as the voice of the Appalachian League's Elizabethton Twins. I've returned for a second season in 2021.
