I'm Nick Badders
I'm the Radio Broadcaster for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Double-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals). 2022 marks my sixth season in professional baseball and second with the Naturals after two seasons in the Australian Baseball league with the Melbourne Aces. I also call select games for the Arkansas Razorbacks, on the Razorbacks Sports Network from Learfield and SEC Network +, across a variety of sports with a concentration on baseball and softball.
I'm a May 2020 graduate of Arizona State's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and outside of broadcasting, an award-winning sports photographer. While still in school, I spent the summer of 2019 with the Elizabethton Twins (Minnesota Twins Advanced Rookie Affiliate) and summer of 2018 with the Sonoma Stompers (Independent Pacific Association).
At ASU, I served as the voice of Sun Devil women's soccer and women's ice hockey, while having also called ASU basketball, baseball, softball and men's ice hockey and shot photos of nearly every sport Sun Devil Athletics has to offer.
"Any good broadcast, not just an Olympic broadcast, should have texture to it. It should have information, should have some history, should have something that's offbeat, quirky, humorous, and where called for it, should have journalism, and judiciously it should also have commentary. That's my ideal." - Bob Costas
After two seasons in the Australian Baseball League, I was named the lead broadcaster for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, Double-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. I'll call all home games for the team, while assisting with media relations and other duties.
